Has anyone had Corian worktops resanded/ refinished?

My quite old Corian worktops could do with this but I'm not sure where to start and how much it might cost?

Anyone had it done?

Call around some corian fabricators and they will be able to sort you out depending on how busy they are. If the kitchen company you purcased it from is still around, contact them. Most fabricators wont be too keen on doing it - they would rather deploy their guys on fitting job but your kitchen company can facilitate this.

Its a messy job though.

You might find a good scrub with something lightly abrasive like Jif /cif might bring back some lustre into the corian again too ?! its worth a try !

Sorry OnePlan - Its not something I would recommend. Corian is finished of using a finer grit buffing paper than CIF/JIF. Both of these are OK for spot treatment but larger areas would almost certainly end up with swirl marks. Not aesthetically pleasing.

well I would have thought that too - but when I went to a training seminar on Corian - that's what they recommend ! in fact they said Ajax was best for spot treatments and Jif ( as it was then ) for getting the lustre back !

Will crack open the Jif later then and see if that helps...

OnePlan - I am surprised. We have a large Glacier White display in the front window and it gets stained and marked to buggery. We use Cif for spot cleaning but it always shows against bright daylight and we have to get it buffed every couple of years.

i've been thinking of getting one of these sets for the same purpose. Probably i'll cream clean then buff.

Its a skilled job so before you take power tools to a corian take, ensure that you have both the right tools and skills to do it. Too much pressure and you will put deep marks and scorch the worktop.
