Seen this article and wondered if anyone had done this....reason being is that my house is a single storey flat roof building (70ftx30ft) and I was thinking of adding another floor this article makes it look cheap and simple -- any thoughts - on costs?

Ha ha, Telegraph.

Unless the garage was built in the expectation of being turned into a two-storey extension, it will not have got adequate foundations, so would need to be demolished and dug up. You can probably look up the plans on your local council website, and perhaps you will be lucky.

Thanks PJ....if I added a pitched roof to my flat roofed single storey (70x30ft) house to contain 4 beds and 2 baths with just flat velux -- how would I calculate the cost?

dunno

there are broad brush guides of £x per sq m

perhaps one of the architects will look in.
