Wood flooring disaster

After much research we got our builder to go ahead and order engineered wood flooring from the supplier of our choice.
It has now been delivered and we are shocked.

We chose the flooring from samples in the shop (the supplier finishes the wood to customers preferences).
We chose an oil finish on a plank which is rated "country". The sample showed all knots filled in and the plank was smooth.
What we have received are planks with holes in them (unfilled), rough wood and even some splinters coming off at the edges.
We haven't managed to contact the supplier due to the holiday but can someone please advise me what can be done to make this better?

Do you think it is meant to be filled after fitting??

No Milly. Our builder are fitting it. That's how it is. He's given it all two coats of Osmo Oil.
