How much did your side extension cost

Buying a house with quite a narrow kitchen diner at back of house which is Victorian. It's currently 2.5m wide.

If we extended sideways into the garden, around 1,5m wide and 4m long any ideas what kind of cost we'd be looking at?

Don't know, but watching with interest!

Depends where you live but broadly it's £1000 to £1500 per sq metre to 'first fix'

We are in SW London. We went with a small builder that had his own team that he rotated around projects. We had side + rear extensions + some bathroom remodelling + cellar decorative work (to make a quasi utility room). All in about 55k to the builder (VAT incl). Kitchen, bathroom, tiles, floors, plans & drawings, party walls agreements all extra. I would suggest side return on its own would still be about 2/3 of the above 55K. We had quotes up to 30K higher than this from the Morespace/Innerspace/Loftspace style companies that specialise in the full project management of this for you. We chose to do a lot more ourselves in order to make savings. Probably cheaper if you are outside London.
