is it possible to convert a conservatory into an extension/sunroom? by just replacing the top part?

Just wondering if anyone has successfully done this. We would like to replace our conservatory with a more useable room open plan to kitchen. But i fear getting diggers round the back of the house to dig out foundations would be difficult due to access.

I recently did some work for a building company who did a second story extension on top of an original room. The foundation was only designed to carry a single room but by using a wooden frame, the weight was fine.

I imagine that you could utilise that option.

You would need to check what permissions you would need to do it, I think.

Thanks. Yes we would look into getting necessary planning permissions if it was considered practically like it would work.
