Gorenje kitchen appliances??

Wondering if anyone 'in the know' can help ...

Gorenje is a manufacturer of top quality, long lasting white goods that rival, if not better than Neff, Bosch and Siemens. It is a Slovenian brand starting to make waves here in the Uk (eg products stocked in Harrods).

My question is... are Gorenje products as good as they sound? Do they last well? My Slovenian Dh is convinced we should have our whole new kitchen kitted out in gorenje, including washer-dryer.

I was more inclined towards Miele.

Does anyone have the lowdown on Gorenje?

TIA x

Have had these products in previous kitchens and been very impressed with them - my fridge is still going strong 10yrs later (and 2 international moves) and the dishwasher lasted about 7 yrs (with a couple of years storage in a garage when it wasn;t used -started up again with no problem)

Would get them again, have had 2 washing machines from them - one didn;t last well at all (possibly might have constantly overloaded it) but current one seems to be going fine!

For the price I think they're very good.

I have their dishwasher

I bought an AEG thinking it was a good brand - it lasted 13 months and AEG didn't want to know as it was out of warranty.

When the repair man came, I asked him what he recommended and he said gorenje. That was 7 years ago and I've still got it. It is deffo as good as the bosch I had before.

If I was buying another? - I probably would pay the ££ (I think it is double) and get a Miele. (thats without your comment about Miele) But the gorenje has been very good value for money. Doing exactly what is says on the tin Smile

Thanks everyone for the replies, they are very encouraging and have given me a vote of confidence to opt for the Gorenje range. Most of their products come with a 5 year parts & labour guarantee too, which is fantastic

Really wouldnt recommend Gorenje. In general poorly made value appliances. BSH is better.

Thanks for your reply kmdesign. May I ask why you say this about poor quality/design? I've researched gorenje a lot in the last couple of days and everything points to the opposite, but interested to hear your views...

My experience with gorenje has been excellent, longest lasting white goods I've had.

We had to put in a new kitchen when we lived abroad for a while, I couldn't really justify Miele prices for the project, so my kitchen designer suggested Gorenje appliances as the next best thing to substitute - I was pleased to see had a nice design and proved to be very reliable and well made appliances. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gorenje! Having said that, I also like bosch, siemens, miele, it all depends on the budget, I guess....
