RustyBear · 17/05/2014 20:00

That floor plan is weird too, unless there really is a property somewhere with a bedroom 90cmx1m....

GemmaTeller · 17/05/2014 20:02

Oh dear, someones made a boob, I wonder how long before they notice/someone tells them Grin

hyperspacebug · 18/05/2014 10:22

CarCiKoTab · 18/05/2014 10:33

Like a lucky dip really never know which one you might be viewing could it be property number 1? Property number 2?...Totally confused.

Blackeyez09 · 18/05/2014 10:35

Actually there are some very exclusive areas in Birmingham Harborne, Edgbaston, Sutton Coldfield, Moseley, Selly Park Solihull (kind of Birmingham really) plus some towns on outskirts like Henley in Arden, Alcester really beautiful places with lovely period homes.

I think Birmingham in a whole is great for period homes when I first came here for training (im south london girl raised family still there)I was just keen to get out but 7 year post grad training in ophthalmology Sad now I'm buying a very lovely and affordable victorian terrace!

However it's really not that bad here with some good schools and great parks... though I have every intention of returning to Sussex (partner has a house there) when I finish as that's where I did my first medical training.

I will always have a soft spot for Birmingham and hopefully a housing connection if I keep it as it has great rental yield with 3 universities, being a big city and upcoming HS2..

Still don't think it's as bad as London prices 6 bed detached 650 in London Hmm

I have lived in Birmingham all my life and I cannot for the life of my understand why Moseley is so desirable.

It's a shithole. It really is, I don't like Harborne either but I can see it has its good points.

Moseley though, really? Its no different to Sparkhill or Sparkbrook.

ajandjjmum · 18/05/2014 10:48

The parts of Moseley adjacent to Cannon Hill Park are good - although I agree there are some dodgy bits!

Blackeyez09 · 18/05/2014 10:53

Yeah I agree to was hesitant about that one having been to high street just hoping to get some milk and being accosted by beggars... It's like all places good and bad parts... Could say the same about parts of south London where I grew up now you will struggle to buy 3 bed house for less than 500k in Peckham!

OP posts:
MagnaCharge · 18/05/2014 10:56

I suppose so. Although I am not totally sure where Moseley ends and Edgbaston begins.

Blackeyez09 · 18/05/2014 10:59

That's so true he he seems to have Balsall Heath (a real and true dump) in between... Shock

funny I spent most of my 3 years in South Birmingham which everyone raves about and settled for Sutton Coldfield side...

OP posts:
caroldecker · 18/05/2014 11:39

this is about a mile from this

Blackeyez09 · 18/05/2014 11:49

Yes but London is similar just really gentrified now... I remember Brixton in the 80s 90s not the same place now... Really good bits next to rough bits is still common in London though everywhere seems expensive

OP posts:
ajandjjmum · 18/05/2014 12:54

I lived in Edgbaston for a while. The other side of the road was Balsall Heath. The posh prostitutes hung around on our side of the road! Grin
