God value wardrobes - Ikea, John Lewis 'house' range or other?

I need some wardrobes for our next house but won't have a huge amount of cash to spare at the beginning.

I originally was thinking of getting the Birkeland stuff from ikea, but I haven't seen it in the flesh to know what quality is like.

I then saw that john lewis is doing a cheaper range of furniture called 'house' and had a look at the wardrobes the other day.
They are a bit cheaper than ikea but seem quite flimsy.

Or is there anywhere else we should be thinking?
Mi need a large wardrobe, chest of drawers and 2 bed side tables, all preferably under or around £700 in total. (£300 wardrobe/£300chest & £50bedside tables etc)

Have you considered Ebay?

I got most of our furniture (wardrobes etc) off there- all very good quality stuff.

Have you looked at the ones in B&Q surprisingly I quite liked some of them, not badly priced. www.diy.com/nav/rooms/bedrooms/freestanding-bedroom-furniture
Also Homebase by us has a lot on display and I like those too.

I like ikea stuff cos it's easy to put up and seems to last well...in the past I've seen what I like in ikea, then did an ebay search and got it cheaper and already built :)

We recently got some basic white ones from homebase for £80 each. They are not beautiful but are functional and fine for now and free delivery

Ikea, esp with your budget you will be able to get something. I've got ikea wardrobes and they do last. Plus range of sizes to choose from.
