Anyone had stair-lights installed? Thoughts?

We are thinking about getting these fitted. Possibly not every step and maybe set in the wall above the stairs themselves.

Do you have them? Are they worthwhile?

I think they look cool, myself!

We had such stairway lights installed. Ours are both on main staircase and loft staircase, about 4 of them along the length of the staircase installed directly in the wall. In the evening you don't even need to turn on all the lights, you just have these on and it gives a very nice ambient lighting. Highly recommended!

That looks fab. I'm also going to steal your banister colour idea, too Grin

So you obviously have them on their own light switch?

Are they halogens or LEDS?

TIA

Thanks - yes, they are indeed LEDs and were installed with their own switch. We got ours from this retailer, they have a shop nearby us.

Wow looks fab! I would like these but DH not keen!

I have John Cullen Oslo step lights in our en suite bathroom. Saves turning on the bright lights when DH making a late foray into the bathroom. They are designed for stairs and they are brilliant. (But not literally!). They also have a wonderful web site for ideas. Their lights are pricey and you might get better value elsewhere.

They look really classy, don't they?!
