Moving areas - one solicitor or two? and where?

My mum is selling in Devon and moving up to us in Surrey. In a bit of a quandary about solicitors - should she have one in each area for each bit, or one to do both. If she has one to do both where should they be - at the sale end or the buying end?

She only needs one and they can be anywhere. When I sold in London I used on in Suffolk.

If you want to choose between the two locations, choose the buying end as that is where searches and so on will need to be done, but it really doesn't matter.

We just relocated. I found it best to pick one close to where we lived as it meant we could pop down to hand in forms, sign things etc rather than put them in the post . Made things happen more quickly than they would otherwise.
