We are in the middle of buying a new home, which hopefully we will live in for a long time. the kitchen in it at the moment is horrible but liveable while we save up some cash to do it up, but it really doesn't have enough units for what we need, plenty of space just not many cupboards. The plan is to decide what kitchen units we want (Ikea) and do one run of units (prob 3 big base units with drawers) where at the moment there is nothing.
my issue is it will probably be a couple of years until we do the rest, is this crazy to do half a kitchen and plan to do the rest to match later?

What will you do if they discontinue the range on the meantime?

ikea have just changed to a new range of kitchen units, so they (probably) wont' change again in the next 5 years. but the doors could well change.

can you get nice, free-standing cupboards for the extra units that wouldn't have to match the rest of the kitchen?
