new ikea kitchen and old interior bits

Hi we are in the process of buying our new home, which is fab but the kitchen, and I'm fairly sure we will go with Ikea as we have been really happy with our old Ikea kitchen in this house which has been in about 7 years and still looks great, but we haven't had a chance to have a good look at the new range yet.

We have lots of pull out wire drawers in our kitchen at the moment, does anyone know if these would fit in the new metod kitchen range? (our buyer is not bothered about these, don't worry we will still be leaving a fully functioning kitchen just trying to save a bit of money on new kitchen)

No, they won't, sorry. You might be able to jury rig them in, but I wouldn't take the risk personally. It was hard enough getting my old faktum interior drawers into my slightly newer faktum cabinets. Metod have holes in different places and are a different depth.

Agree with pp. Nothing from the old Ikea system fits into the new one.

You can still get wire baskets with the new kitchen (I have them sitting in a pile in my hall waiting to be fitted) but I don't know how different they are from the old ones as we didn't have them in our last ikea kitchen.

They look the same though, grey coated wire on runners.

I can't wait to get ours fitted, we have started to build the carcasses but it can't be fitted for 2 weeks.

How is everyone else finding the new kitchen?
