Do my brands have to match? (Kitchen).

So does that extractor fan brand have to match the hob, which is separate to the oven so does that need to match too?

Do people care about the brand of appliance? If they look around my house (only planning on selling in a few year not immediately) are they going to think I am naff for going for a cheap brand?

nope. No-one will notice or care.

most brands are all the same anyway, from the same factory.

No, mine don't match. If I was buying a house and it had a cheap oven/hob etc, I don't think it would put me off /make any difference to how much I offered. I'd be happy to move in and use them, but eventually replace them with something of my own choosing.

No. Get what works best for you.

Yes and no! Extractor and hob, no, but if you're having, for example, a microwave or combi on top of an oven, they should not only be from the same brand but also the same product line. Otherwise the finish (even if both are stainless steel) and the profile won't quite match. Your oven could have quite square corners but the microwave have rounded ones, and the handles and knobs will be different. You won't be aware they look odd until they are next to each other and then it stands out like a sore thumb.

So no, they don't need to match unless they will be placed right next to each other.

It wouldn't bother me, so long as it all looked ok together.

Microwave and oven should match if they are stacked together but otherwise no.

If you have oven and microwave built in and close to each other then it would be good if they were the same brand and line.

As for hob, it depends on the look of your oven and whether you're having gas or induction. If induction, no because they sit so flat into the worktop and are more or less all black, you can only tell by standing right over them.
if gas, then as long as they were all stainless steel or matching black then ok too.

As for fridge/freezer and dishwasher, no they don't have to match the rest or each other in terms of brand.

However I would look to ensure they all looked similar. Most appliances do anyway, black or stainless steel seems to be the most available.

Get the ones which have functions which work for you.

My kitchen has ovens and hob from same brand and line. And by accident the dishwasher and fridge/freezer are same brand. But that's coincidence.
My extractor is a different brand to the rest. They are all stainless steel except dishwasher which is fully built in so you can't see it anyway.

Happy shopping Grin

I went for a similar look but the appliances were chosen for their function.
I have neff ovens but hate their hob so I've got Bosch hob & extractor, AEG fridge, Miele dishwasher (integrated), Panasonic microwave and neff freezer(integrated)
The exposed stuff is all SS but that's the limit of their matchiness
