How much in advance did you have a definite removal date?

Just wondering how much in advance others have had a definite removal date? Everyone in the chain had agree 28th May, so we're hoping we'll know whether this date is possible in the next couple of weeks.

Last time we had six days notice. Our purchaser wanted to do it in three days, but couldn't get a removal van.

We were hoping for the usual 2 weeks but got 1.

Op, I'm wondering this too. Are you exchanging and completing on same day? If not, I think you can specify the date in contract when you exchange. I suspect that my buyers would want a same day exch/compl - very stressful!

3-6 days is ridiculous - when would you pack or arrange removals? unless it was round the corner.

We've always had to do an exchange and completion on the same day as someone hasn't been ready to exchange before. Really want avoid that this time as we lost our removal van as we couldn't confirm it was definitely on three days before. Things were on the next day and everyone had to wait six days.

We're totally ready, contracts signed, transfers signed and deposit with our solicitor. Fingers crossed the others in the chain are just about there.

About 10 days.

We were aiming for a particular date and, as it approached, realised it was too tricky so all sides agreed to a date a week late than planned/hoped.
