Tumble dryer in garage- should it sit on the concrete floor or have something between it and the floor k

Just that- should the dryer be protected or insulated by sitting it on something (e.g plywood) or is it ok to sit the dryer straight onto the concrete floor?

The garage is unheated.

Mine survived 9 years on the concrete floor of a garage. It was a vented dryer; don't know if a condensor would be ok.

Mine is just on concrete and is fine. It's vented.

I used a condensor one on a concrete garage floor for 8 years without any problems. Garage also unheated.

Also also just on floor, condenser.

We've got a condenser dryer and we've got it sitting on an old pallet, so it's a couple of inches from the ground.

This winter we installed a little heater (the kind of thing you put in greenhouses) with a thermostat so if the temp drops below 5deg or something, then it won't freeze up. That's a bit more important for us as our washer is in the garage too. Had lots of fun over past few years with frozen pipes, icy drums and water containers that look like giant ice cubes!

never occurred to me not to put it on concrete floor .

Oh and if you've got bedrooms above your garage or rooms on both sides, then your garage probably won't get as cold as ours anyway. (Ancient, one course of brick, but very good at chilling beer!).

Thanks. That's very encouraging.
