We are ready to put our house on the market and not sure which agent to go with.
Can anyone recommend an estate agent they ave had a good experience with? Or who to keep away from?

Hi - we just sold our property in Twickenham early this year. Estate agents I would recommend are Milestone Residential, Chase Buchanan or Websters. We had some pretty stressful experiences with a couple of other local agents but the above were good. I would also recommend actually going to the offices of the agents you are considering appointing before you sign anything with them. The person who visits your house to value could very well have nothing much more to do with the whole process and it is useful to know who you will be dealing with. Also negotiate on their rate and check how long you are tied in with them for - this we found was not fixed and they would come down.

Agree with gegs73. We used Milestone, and the same two people dealt with us all the way through (and still work there!). We found them excellent - professional and thorough.

Milestone, definitely! I used to work for one of their other branches and loved it there - great people.

I've used Dexters and they were really good.

Try Snellers as well, when we were thinking about selling we spoke to them and it was the branch manager we dealt with the whole time. Their valuation was pretty much in the middle of what we got.

Dexters and Foxtons will give you the best valuations but aren't always realistic... That said, the houses for sale on our road have all gone to bidding wars in the last 6 months so it seems you can pretty much ask what you want in this area at the moment Confused

Thank you all- that's really helpful. I'll get the ball rolling now!!
