Hello,

I'm looking for 'dusky' plum / pinkish colour that will go with either Dulux polished pebble or a Stoney colour.

I can't decide yet whether to do the main colour in the front room with polished pebble or a nice Stoney colour, think F@B London stone but much lighter. I am looking to paint one wall a plummy colour but need any ideas as to what names of shades to look at?

Dulux Dusted Fondant is along the right lines but is looking a bit dark from the sample I've used. I don't want lilac though, I think I want it more pinky.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm really stuck :(

I understand that I'm more than likely being very unfashionable or late to the party with these colours, but I'm very excited as we bought a doer upper and after nearly a year we are now ready to paint, very very excited!

I just can't decide if I like a plummy colour with a stone /beige colour or with grey.

This bit is so hard!

I have dusted fondant in my bedroom. It's more pinky than plummy to my eye.

F&B cinder rose may be suitable too. I have a sample of it on one wall at the moment and its lovely seems to meet your brief.

Thank you TheAbominableWoman, Cinder rose may just be the one! It's not so pink or purple that DH will cry lots ;) I have lots of images opened up in google and pin interest and I'm really liking it, thank you!

Hmmm I think I would prefer it with a Stoney colour... Ah another batch of samples to order :(

I have it on the wall next to various neutral samples. So far, IMO, it looks best with F&B ammonite, Dulux Just Walnut and Polished Pebble.

I also have samples of F&B dimity (too creamy), blackened (too blue/cold), elephant's breath (too meh) and Dulux Timeless (too white).

Hope that helps a bit maybe?

That helps so much, I have sample splats of Just Walnut dotted around as it's a contender along with polished pebble to go with it. I'm so glad I posted now, thank you!

Glad me and my myriad samples can be of service. F&B cornforth white might be worth checking out too. Doesn't work for my north facing living room but I think it could work well with cinder rose in the right room.

(Still not a fecking clue what colours I'm going to use myself though....)
