Replacing flat roof with sloping glass roof?

Hi, I've finally had another offer accepted in Forest Hill after many property palavers.

The house is an end terrace and the ground floor extends out about five - six foot in excess of the first floor. The roof at the front is currently flat. I'd like to replace some or all of it with a sloping glass roof for extra light in what will be our eat-in kitchen. Has anyone else done this? And know how much it might cost? TIA.

I would contact a conservatory company to get an idea of cost. Just a roof is not something I have done but you can get some great ideas from Apropros. Lots of ideas in May 2014 Homes and Gardens magazine.
