Self Build programme?

Just posted in Telly Addicts but thought would try here too.

There was a programme on self-builds on telly last night (I think) - did anyone see it or know which channel it was so I can watch online?

Also, while I am at it, is there anyone interested/knowledgeable on community self builds? Trying to find out more around timescales.

Soz - didn't see it ! Have helped with several self builds though, it's a great way to find out your weakness' s and strengths !!! With community self builds this can be a tremendous advantage ( unless you are all organisers and no do'ers !!) as you can all do the different things each person is good at ! Just keep an eye out for the one person in the group that's not pulling their weight ! There's always one !!!

Hi was it Building the Dream? Hosted by a Charlie something? If so it's usually on 4seven or More4.

Ohh thanks for the replies, I'd almost given up there! I will check out more4 etc, thanks onceipop.

OnePlan, great to hear from someone with experience - where do we start!

We have a few people interested locally, lots of skills etc, but how do we make the next steps in finding a plot? I assume we have to approach the council, but who? Local or district?

Do you have any idea of the timescales from start to finish?

Lots of questions Blush

I've been brought in ( to stop the fighting ) to help with the design at a later stage - so haven't been there at the start ! but I expect you'd need a good legal person to sort the who owns what and how etc and to cover the what if's ( accident / illness / death etc ) need bases covered etc ! I'm sure there must be a blog or website somewhere !!!
