Cost to put a door in a garage wall? (bricks and breeze blocks are stacked to leave a door shape)

I'm thinking of having a door cut into the rear garage wall as it'd be convenient for garden access. Do you have any idea of the rough cost for this, and whether I should get quotes from a general builder or another trade ?

The garage is at the side of the house, rather than being internal.

We did this about 7 years ago. It was a lot easier than I thought - it was done in a day. I can't remember how much it was exactly, but somewhere between £500 and £800 seems familiar.

Basically you need to get rid of the rubble (so cost of a skip), buy a door, and pay someone for a day.

Meant to say - of all the things we have done to this house, this job was the most useful. We use it a couple of times a day. I'm forever grateful that we did it, and can't imagine how the previous owners managed without it.

Thanks- that cost compares well with buying a shed, which is the other option.
