hot water tank low pressure?

hello

Can anyone help? (Ie resident plumbing expert PJ) We have a non-combi boiler with a hot water tank in the loft. Our hot water pressure has never been good but it is now barely a trickle into the kitchen.

What can it be? Please!

We had this and had a second tank put in - been brilliant ever since.

"has never been good but it is now barely a trickle into the kitchen."

there is a drowned pigeon in your cold water tank, and it is blocking the outlet pipe.

When you have cleaned it out, fit a close-fitting plastic lid to the tank to keep it clean in future.

It might possibly be some other kind of blockage.

or, if all the other hot taps in the house are OK, then it might be that the tap is worn out or the jumper has fallen off the spindle. In which case you may notice that it feels different when turned on and off.

I'm worried about a pigeon pigletjohn especially cos my babies looooove to drink the bathwater there is no cover on the hot water tank apparently, which doesn't seem right either.

time to call our friendly plumber I guess.. again.

sorry, I didn't mean to alarm you, but it is a thing that happens, and it was the first possibility that occurred to me.

you may be pleased to hear that hot water cylinder, at 60C or higher, pasteurises the water that is stored in it. When travelling in iffy countries, hot hotel tapwater, allowed to cool, is usually safe to drink.
