Naked Kitchens

Has anyone ever used Naked Kitchens before or heard anything good or bad about them. They keep popping up on my Facebook news feed and I'm very tempted but can't find out much about them.

Haven't heard of anyone who has one, sorry ! They look ok in the photographs, but the oven housings on one of their islands looks a little unfinished ?! If you have a good fitter things like this can be overcome with infil panels...

Did you use Naked Kitchens in the end shufflebum? I am wondering about them too but can't find any feedback.

We have just bought an ex display kitchen from them and the quality is to die for. We are goon to visit them next week to buy some more units to complete the kitchen - they are really worth a look.

They are part of Norfolk Oak. They make most things wood.

They were the company who were turfed out of Anmer Hall with 2 months notice (after 15 years) to make way for the Cambridges.

ilove we didn't in the end as couldn't find out enough and was too lazy to go to their showroom! Found a lovely company 2 miles down the road instead, Luxmoore and Co

Yes they do fit kitchens. We looked around the workshop / showroom and we are going back to get them to design the rest of the units we need. They deliver all over the country too which is good for us as we are in North Yorkshire. Hope this helps.

We used Naked Kitchens. Their kitchens are really lovely quality but the process was very painful as they made quite few basic mistakes and their customer service was quite anti-customer orientated. So whilst we now have a lovely kitchen, it was slow to rectify the problems so I don't think I would recommend them.

ILoveCheese that was definitely the case and it took almost a month to resolve the issues which meant being without a kitchen for all that extra time.

I used 'unfitted kitchens' which arrived and need to be installed by a local builder - but a lot of what they do is 'unfitted' i.e. large islands, butchers blocks etc., which don't need any fitting. I am very happy with mine. Don't know how the prices stack up with the Naked one but worth a look. You do have to log on to access the whole site but I have had no problems with them and would use them again if I moved.

We bought a Naked Kitchen after huge deliberation and are delighted with it. It's amazing. We did our own design and they made it to that. The service was great, what more can I say. For the money, no one else came anywhere near. The photo doesn't do it justice!

I have an update on Naked Kitchens. They have made a complaint of libel about my posts above as they believe them to be defamatory (if you can't see the posts, it's because they have been removed).

I don't know if this is a common practice by the Naked kitchens. I was unable to find any reviews of the company when we were considering using them which was why I posted here.

Surely not?! How can they find out who you are for a start?

I suspect IloveCheese has been notified by MNHQ that NK have made a complaint. I cannot see that the posts are libellous. Perhaps an overreaction from someone who has been told about the thread rather than has read it?

It is as wowfudge said, MNHQ emailed me to say Naked Kitchen had made 'a complaint of possible libel about my posts on this thread'. In line with the new defamation act, posters now have to decide for themselves whether they want to stick by their comments, or remove them. If I want to stick by them, I have to send MNHQ my name and address which they would release to the claimant if ordered by a court!

I don't think my posts are remotely libellous either and I am shocked that any company would try to suppress genuine opinions and discussion on a site like Mumsnet. I think it is designed to scare people into removing anything remotely negative and puts them in a worse light than my previous posts could ever have done.

It's a shame as we were down to 2 companies and this was one of them. Obviously, we won't be using them now!

Gosh that's terrible. Looking back on your posts their is nothing remotely negative said. Blimey!

I agree with Lylabell123.

The workmanship and materials are excellent -- really solid, well constructed and beautiful. But even with an architect who is a kitchen specialist, the back and forth emails and phone calls drove us crazy. The thing is, they don't come and measure (we went to them (in Norfolk) with a detailed sketch and measurements). Throughout the process they keep telling you that something needs to be adjusted by 1.8mm for example, and do you agree to this? They keep reminding you that it is YOUR responsibility if things don't fit.

In the end their deliveries were short (4 or 5 units missing, so the builders who showed up to fit the kitchen could not do their job that day). NK said that the van could not fit all of the units. But they told us this when I phoned to say that there were missing cupboards, this was after the delivery had been scheduled and the builders were on site ready to get to work. They delivered the rest about a week later. A 3rd delivery was necessary because some hinges and shelf supports were missing.

JaneEdwards72, if you need a kitchen quick, I do not think you'll get it from Naked Kitchens. From the day that your plans are absolutely completely finalised they'll tell you that it will be 6-8 weeks. But the key is how long does it take to finalise the plans? Our experience was that it is a long, drawn-out affair that tried even the patience of our architect -- a conscientious and detail-orientated professional.

If 6-8 weeks seems quick to you, then my advice is to go to them with the most excruciatingly detailed plans, fully measured within a tolerance of 0.5 mm, know what materials you want, what colour paint, buy the handles, etc, etc. You'll also need all the installation specs for all the appliances (except the ones they supply). These you can find online, but it's your job to find them and supply them. NK will then produce a rendering quite quickly and if there are a minimum of changes, you'll be fine. But our experience was that each change was like a hydra's head, you made it and then 2 more popped up to be approved.

i was part of another thread......
ive actually bought it online from direct online kitchens.... they were really really nice. my builder double checked everything on saturday. they had added the items to my shopping cart. i just went through the checkout.
these take 12 working days from yesterday. i get it on the 10th feb... so excited...
