Hello

I posted on the local Essex board and it was suggested i may get a response on here.

I'm starting to look for a house in or around Braintree where my dp currently lives. He has so far given me obviously Braintree and the black Notley, Great Notley, within and Rayne areas as possibilities.

I was wondering if there was anymore areas I should consider looking into. Dp says Colchester is too far as we need to stay relatively close to his parents as that's why he is with them at the moment. He's unsure about other areas due to fact they only moved there 6 months ago.

Thank you in advance

Great and Little Dunmow are both lovely. I haven't lived around there for some years so this might be out of date, but there was an awful lot of new build going up in Witham when I was there, which suggests there might also be some reasonable infrastructure in the ways of shops/pubs etc. Living on the right side of Chelmsford would give you loads of options and it's very quick to drive to Braintree from there. Writtle is particularly lovely.

Hope some folks with more up to date information will be along to post soon.

Look along the A120 towards Colchester though as there are lots of naice villages, particularly Coggeshall (about 20 mins to Braintree).
