Lovely Huge windows - DIY baby proofing necessary?

Two massive lovely floor-to- ceiling windows that fill two entire walls. But a toddler could walk through them of course. They are apparently y safety glass but she blithely crashes into walls with things all the time, so we think we need to babyproof. Any ideas on this? Three metres wide so a stair gate won't hack it! One website suggest putting sticker decals on it to show there is something there? Er....

Screw a couple of timber battons horizontally at toddler level? For her to bounce off?

Sand sharp corners off first, and you could paint them to match your other woodwork.

But it may be that safety glass is just fine. Toddlers don't weigh much, and presumably it's designed to be safe for adults. You could try calling a local glass company, just for advice.

Well first we need to see a photo as this sounds lovely.

If it's modern, it should be safety glass. Can you see any marks or numbers on the glass? Do you know who fitted it?

If you can find a temporary solution, you may find that the clumsy and distracted stage doesn't last long. I believe child-proofing traditionally consisted of "put a chair in front of that" Grin That'd work like the stickers and be a visual reminder to STOP!

I'd go for a line of stickers at toddler eye line, or something in front. Something non-climbable though!

Do you have a useful health visitor that you could ask for advice? Or maybe an organisation like rospa could help. But really we need to see these glass walls!

put stickers on for a while so she learns they are there. Unless she is super-toddler made of lead she can't go through them on foot. She has to learn not to walk into solid objects, it is quite a useful life skill.

but do NOT allow indoor scooting or cycling!
