Mumsnet interior designers help me choose a rug and a light fitting

I think it really needs a rug. I want something a bit quirky/unusual. I love this, but waaay over budget for the size we need.

I am also struggling with a light fitting, I think i want something modern, maybe copper or brass coloured.

Any thoughts?

I have bought bits from them Blush

trixymalixy · 12/04/2014 19:44

I would buy from blue suntree, but DH has a design degree and won't contemplate it.

I nearly linked both of those! BHS is the interior designers favourite I always use. The concrete pendants are gorgeous

Love the concrete pendants too, in fact there's loads I love from there including the two you linked to. Such good value!

So gutted that one I linked to is out of stock. I had just been looking at these earlier, but they are£££££. Going to phone my local bhs tomorrow and pray they have one!

I like this rug

This light is bit different.

This is similar to your favourite light comes in white too.

trixymalixy · 13/04/2014 23:44

Thanks everyone I'm really glad I posted this.

At the moment I'm thinking I'll go with this rug. It's a bit dull, but I can't seem to find something unusual within budget.

Tring to persuade DH on the BHS light, but he wants something more shaded.

Trixy, im a little bit on love with your paneling, it looks fab. You're not in Kent are you... quite fancy some paneling in our new place

Preferthedogtothekids · 14/04/2014 19:46

Have you look on Joss and Main? You do have to register your email addy with them, but their furniture is gorgeous and the rugs are unusual and very lovely.

trixymalixy · 14/04/2014 22:05

Sorry tiger, I'm in Glasgow. My talented DH did the panelling himself.

Is this grey rug from loaf any good?

trixymalixy · 10/05/2014 19:36

Update: I procrastinated over the JL rug and of course it went out of stock. Then a 30% off Cox and Cox code landed in my inbox and it wears clearly fated that I should buy this. It's completely gorgeous and I'm really pleased with it.

I bought the BHS multi cage light fitting, but didn't measure the drop so it was far too long (doh!) and DH would have kept hitting his head on it, so it's going in our bedroom and it's back to the drawing board.
