Do you think purchaser will have a survey done - bs valuation only done so far?

Do you think our purchaser will have a survey done? Our house is approx. 60 years old, nothing obviously wrong with it that we know, other than minor things which would have been obvious to purchaser when viewing.

Offer accepted end of February. She only applied for mortgage on 3 April (think she delayed it as our solicitor was for two weeks at beginning of transaction and there was a delay sending our initial paperwork). The building society did a valuation on Monday and we haven't heard about a survey. It's certainly cheaper to do a valuation and survey together with building societies here. Also, she is using the mortgage broker at our agents and we know the surveyors they can instruct independently are a lot more expensive than the building society as well.

Can you not ask your agent if she is having a survey done? They can start to hurry things along for you.

I'm wondering the same about my buyers, OP.

They've done the mortgage survey (took 5-10min) and since their lawyer has been making all the managemnt co and other enquiries. I sort of relaxed thinking they won't be be doing their own survey - especially as it a flat, albeit a period conversion.

But now the agent was calling for a update from me and mentioned that they will possibly do it next week. Surely most people who bother to pay for surveys would do it first thing, before spending on legal stuff? I'm still hoping they wont as various minor issues may tempt them to change their offer! I won't back down but it's stressful. They did see the issues but surveyor might exaggerate things.

I've heard that some people don't bother. Let's both hope for that.
