Wooden venetian blinds, with or without tape

For a large bay window in the living room (so three of them), in off white, I have the option of with tape and without tape. Can't make my mind up.

I have blinds with tape - IMO it looks much smarter and less stark.

Mine are in a bathroom (two large windows ) the vanity unit is dark brown wood and the blinds have dark brown tape - looks fab.
(I realise this is a different situation. )

Definitely wouldl advise going with the tape though

Thanks agnes, that does sound nice in your bathroom; as the blinds will be white, do you think that the tape will end up looking really grubby though?

Well I have chocolate brown tape so that helps but the wooden slats are f&B strong white and it looks really smart. Could you do a soft colour tape with teh white to tone with the living room as certainly a colour would be more forgiving. However , I went on the principle that the strings will probably get grubby anyway and harder to clean. The tape , whilst fiddly , you could sponge down.

I think it looks so much more "finished" and cosy (if venetian blinds can be cosy but yswim) than the white tape. So mine is a big contrast ie off white and dark brown but if you can co-ordinate the tape to the colour of the living room or even get a neutral but darker I think it looks smarter and the grubbiness worry goes away.

Personally I think mine look fabulous (but then I would !)
