Currently in a private let house through a letting agent
I feel I've been taking for a mug and I'm getting really stressed over this house so much so I've contacted a local mp and going to make a appointment with houseing officer
Lease is up in jan 2015 plus I know I can't leave without giving 2 month notice I've read lease over and over again so much I know it off by heart
My probs with the place is when I moved in there was a lot of work to do one was a mirrored wardrobe door in 2nd bedroom hanging off had a inspection at the end of feb by the letting manager who noticed the wardrobe and asked who I was dealing with told him he said he would chase it up and get back to me still heard nothing even I contacted them about a different matter and no reply
Before I moved in when I viewed the place in nov the tenent let us walk around no letting agent in sight I noticed the shower screen was broken she said she had contacted them about it and was waiting for it to be fixed. I moved in on jan and guess what the screen was still in bath hadn't been fixed it's like they have done this to the last tenent
I've took photos of everything I find wrong with the place
Is there anything else I can do as I'm stressed out at the moment between this place and money finding it hard just now while I'm waiting for a council home xx

I had a landlord like this. Keep calling and emailing the letting agent, keep up the pressure. That's what they are there for.

Was the damage noted in the inventory?

You have the right to your LL's contact details and address, I would contact the LL direct and ask, in writing, for the repairs to be completed. Chances are the LL knows nothing.

Sounds like you have a 1 year lease ? If so is there a 6 month break clause ? If there is then one month before the 6 month break clause you can give your notice, thus vacating on the last day of your agreement. If it is a year then you will need to wait until 1 month before the end. Two months notice may be detailed in you lease but legally you only need to give one. The LL must give you 2 months notice if he wishes you to leave.
