Is it possible to do this? Move staircase beginning from lounge to dining room next door

It's a Victorian end of terrace cottage with typical layout.

You walk in from the front door into your lounge.
There is a doorway to the next room which is a dining room but will be used as a study.

In the lounge is also the stairs to upstairs that comes down between lounge and study.

Because there are effectively 3 doorways into the lounge it's difficult to arrange furniture.

Can we block up the stair entrance in lounge and nick it through to the study as this would suit us much more

Do you have two stairways? Confused How can the stairs be in the lounge and in the study?

You will need to get Building Regulations to approve this change.
They want to check that your new stair case is safe.
Including it's use as a fire escape.

So.. the staircase stays exactly as it is, but you have the door on the other side instead?

You will need to take some advice on putting a door in that wall as it is almost certainly a supporting wall - but can't see it being too big a job.
