Now i have seen a good many threads started in relation to property porn, so i thought i would ask if you would kindly help me and DP with finding us somewhere perfect for us to move to late summer.

Your mission if you choose to accept it - is to find a place that matches these criteria:
Must be between Manchester and Liverpool/Ormskirk
Be in walking distance to a train station
Have 2 rooms as a minimum
Good access to the motorway
Be in a 'naice' area
Top budget is £105,000

This seems to be a minefield, as everywhere we have looked seems to come up with bad neighbourhoods once going into a bit more detail of the areas!
The place we have picked at the moment seems to be Newton-le-Willows, but can't seem to come up with any reference as to what it is like to live there.

Any help on this i will be entirely greatful! Especially from people who live near the area.

Have you tried Parbold? No direct train to Liverpool though.

themonsteratemyspacebar · 10/04/2014 21:59

Oh i havent heard DP mention there so far. Thank you! I will have a look now.
Sorry i wasn't clear in my original post. Only needs to be a train station with links to Manchester, i will be driving to Ormskirk/Liverpool so no problems there!

Just looked at Parbold, looks like a perfect place, but well above our budget Sad
The only places in our price range are for the over 55's, and we have about 27 years before we get to that point Grin. I would love to live there but they won't let us in.
Surely that's ageist?!

Try southport and burscough then - in fact, google the southport-Manchester train line and look at all the villages/stations off that!

OldRoan · 10/04/2014 22:12

Property around there is quite stale in think - ormskirk was named as one of the worst places to try and sell a house recently! You might be surprised?

I'll keep looking for you.

OldRoan · 10/04/2014 22:17

Have you thought about Ince? No idea how nice it would be to live in, but easy train and the drive to ormskirk and liverpool would be fine.

OldRoan · 10/04/2014 22:20

Upholland?

I'll stop now, you've probably already tried these places.

themonsteratemyspacebar · 10/04/2014 22:23

Thank you so much for helping me!
I never thought of the train line suggestion, so simple but brilliant Grin
Im fine with driving up to an hour to Ormskirk, as its for Edge Hill, but have no idea where placements will be so dont want to head too far Manchester way, if that makes sense? But DP is commuting to Manchester everyday atm and its a 2 hour journey, so anywhere up to 45 mins for him by train would be perfect.

Seriously, thank you so much Thanks
