We have been back in the UK for almost a year now. Our plan is to move to Tonbridge, Kent when our tenancy runs out in June (SE London atm), but there are sooo few rental properties available in Tonbridge at the moment. (Sevenoaks are a bit pricey for us, and it seems that the schools in Tunbridge Wells are so oversubscribed, that it is impossible to get in. I'm also very conscious of travel times - Tonbridge have more trains, hence the reason we prefer it to TW.)
Bishop Stortford has always been on our radar and tonight DH and I discussed the possibility of rather moving to BS. Schools are of great consideration. My daughter is 9, so only another 2 years of primary before we need to choose secondary schools. We really like the school options in South Tonbridge (if we choose not to do the 11+, Hillview Girls would be perfect for her), but I know from previous research that the schools in BS are brilliant too.
DH works all over the place, but mainly City and West End, so travel from either Liverpool Street or London Bridge should be okay.
Any advice? I don't know Hertfordshire at all!! I've lived in Kent for 6 years before and it feels like home, so everything inside me rebels against this new possibility!
