Bunk beds

My daughter is almost 5 and desperately wants a bunk bed. Do you think she's too young for the top bunk? Also, the layout of her room means there wouldn't be enough room for it to go flat against the wall so would need to stink out into the room (ie the headboard would be the bit flat against the wall). Is it safe like that or are they meant to go flat against the wall?

These are different designs but mine has a safety bar all the way round and a gap for the ladder.

Is your DD coordinated? Mine has been in a bunk bed since her 5th birthday but she's not a risk taker and steady in her feet

Could you get her a midsleeper instead? Not quite as high and lots of fun.

Ours also have a rail around the top bunk so pretty safe. I have a soon to be 5 DD too and I wouldnt let her on the top bunk but she still gets up for a wee sometimes in the night and I'd be worried about her getting up and down half asleep. Could she not just sleep on the bottom bunk until shes a bit older?
