Aqualisa digital shower and digital bath fill

Hi,

I am looking for two showers, one standalone and one to go over a bath. House being renovated so no problems with installation etc basically starting from scratch.

I was browsing through old Mumsnet threads and it seemed like Aqualisa is a good brand. My plumber agrees. Having a look online it seems you can get digital showers for the same price (infact less I think) than standard mixer ones.

I am looking at the visage range as that is signficantly cheaper than the quartz and wondering if anyone has one and could recommend?

And NOW I see you can also get a shower and bath fill all in one. Also seems quite reasonable:

Would eliminate the need for paying for bathroom taps too. Tempting with small children to be able to set a fixed temperature and (I think) bath depth.

Oh, PS we will have a brand new combi boiler and megaflow thing so I think no probs with water pressure.

I've just had an Aqualisa shower/bath system fitted, although mine is the Rise system because the water's coming from an immersion cylinder and my water pressure isn't great because I'm on the second floor.

The bath water comes out of the overflow and, like the shower, the light on the dual control flashes when the water has reached the selected temperature.

Thanks prettygreen. How are u finding it? I think I misunderstood the way the temperature setting worked I thought u cud set it digitally at a number (eg 37°c) but on closer inspection you still turn a dial? How do you know its going to be the right temperature without testing it first?

I really like it. I do turn a dial on mine but maybe you can enter a number on other models, I'm not sure. It's pretty simple with the dial system though because I just leave it at the same setting and don't move the dial any more. It turns on by pressing the button.

I think you can change the dial and the water temp will change instantly so you can adjust it. The lights stop flashing when it's stabilised at that temperature (so you don't get that horrible variation when it suddenly gets hotter/colder).

At the bathroom shop I went to, they had a model up and running so that you could play with it. There might be a similar set up near you?

We have the Aqualisa Quartz shower and it is amazing. You do have to turn the dial to adjust the temperature on ours but it adjusts really quickly and the flashing light is handy so you know it's ready. I know where on the dial is the temp I like as DH always turns it up when he showers.

I know you're thinking of a different model but I would def recommend Aqualisa as a brand. Our shower is amazing and was well worth the money.

Thanks hiccupgirl...I will be the one turning the temp up compared to my husband!! As he says "the temperature u have it burns my delicate skin". Haha!

V useful to know that the temp is pretty constant though. To be honest cant find a standard thermostatic Aqualisa any cheaper than these digital ones really so am sorely tempted ;)

Ours runs off a combi boiler and is a pumped system (I think!) - tbh even posh hotel showers struggle to match up to our one at home in terms of temp and pressure. And the temp is constant even if a tap is turned on downstairs or the washing machine is filling.

I would def have an Aqualisa system put in again even though they are pricy.

And the bath fills look very swish!

Thanks ladies. I think we are sold...the visage range seems v reasonable even when compared to non digital respected brands. Won't be moving in until July so have a while to wait to try it out!!

We're looking into the Aqualisa Quartz. We have an old system boiler and will need the pump. Anyone had issues with this set up or I'd it as good as my plumber says?

We have two aqualisa Quartz showers with pumps just above them in the loft running on a traditional hot water tank system. One had a bath fill, which I love. The turn dials are easy to adjust - I have it two notches cooler than DH and the kids bath is a notch cooler than mine! I'd recommend the system in a heartbeat.

Thanks Chablis. Am I being daft but do you have to go to a specialist repairer if stuff goes wrong or will most plumbers be ok with th it?

Most plumbers are fine with them. We have a quartz in our stand up shower and a quartz and bath fill in the main bathroom, both pumped as a traditional water system as above. we are moving to a house with a combi boiler and the first thing we will be doing is switching the shower to an appropriate Aqua Lisa for the system there. We also have the wireless remote button to turn the showers on so no reaching under the shower head to turn it on and getting wet!

After about 8 years we needed a new hose. went on to the website, easy to order, arrived really quickly and no postage charges! Would neve live without one ever again! As said before even posh hotels can't match up to our showers at home!
