Catmint · 30/03/2014 22:23

Those panels are painted mdf, surely??

orangepudding · 30/03/2014 22:23

The outside is gorgeous, inside is far too busy.

Floggingmolly · 30/03/2014 22:24

Awful. Wonder why he's selling? He'll have to go a lot smaller in London for that price...

curlyclaz13 · 30/03/2014 22:25

It looks like how I imagine a migraine would look.

ImperialBlether · 30/03/2014 22:26

Does anybody remember him on that programme asking somebody to draw with a Biro and a ruler lines on the MDF on the floor so that it looked like floorboards? And yes with special lighting and at a great distance it looked convincing but I remember thinking when the couple arrived home they would murder him.

motleymop · 30/03/2014 22:30

Grisly. Poor house!

Mrswellyboot · 30/03/2014 22:32

Therwas a thread on this a while ago. No buyers then Grin

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 30/03/2014 22:33

Lovely house though.

LittleMissMac · 30/03/2014 22:50

Handy spare dining room for those annoying evenings when you double book your dinner parties, I see.

Lottiedoubtie · 30/03/2014 22:54

I'm just Shock that you can spend the best part of two million, be Laurence L-B and STILL have a dining area narrow enough to do that stupid estate agent thing of setting the dining table but pushing it up against a wall so noone could sit down one side of the table Hmm

Most of the rooms would be bearable once the furniture, pictures, accessories and curtains were gone Grin

Jaynebxl · 30/03/2014 23:02

Ooo wonder why he is selling up. Do you think he is downsizing cos he isn't on the telly any more?

BrownSauceSandwich · 31/03/2014 07:21

This makes me glad my husband takes so little interest in interior design.

WhatDoIDoHere · 31/03/2014 11:02

He had his house on the market a while back.

AnonymousBird · 31/03/2014 11:05

My head hurts looking at that. Does he take A LOT of drugs?

KitZacJak · 31/03/2014 11:11

Beautiful house and gardens - I wouldn't say no if I had that sort of money! Some of the rooms are a bit busy (the 2 dining rooms in particular!) but it's not like you wouldn't redecorate to your taste eventually. Some of the rooms are really lovely as they are.

minibmw2010 · 31/03/2014 15:15

Why does anyone need 2 dining rooms and when was it ever a good idea to match your table cloth to your wallpaper ??? Smile

It has potential to be a beautiful house but if I was paying £1.75m I'd want a lot nicer than that.

bigTillyMint · 31/03/2014 15:18

The house itself and garden are beautiful, but it's way too busy.

CrazyOldCatLady · 31/03/2014 15:18

Definitely huge potential and most of the garden is lovely but the interior makes me wonder how he was ever known for his design ability? It's dire.

ClownsLeftJokersRight · 31/03/2014 15:20

Laurence, have you been painting on the walls again? Hmmm???Hmm

MillyMollyMama · 01/04/2014 01:07

I think some of the furniture makes the rooms look too busy but with plainer furniture, it would be a lot calmer. For example the swirly dining chairs in one room and the table cloth in the other dining room! I thought it was a pretty fair price considering where it is and the quality of the actual house and garden. It is not that difficult to remove wallpaper! I love the garden. His wife kept her Port Isaac shop for 5 minutes. They are butterflies! It will always be on to the next project.
