Is a quote for 1,275 to have an MDF wardrobe built into an alcove in London too expensive? That doesn't include painting but it includes one shelf and two hanging rails and the knob. They would be shaker style. It seems rather expensive to me but who knows these days.

How big is it? I've heard of less. I had four linear metres of bookcases and cupboards for 500, although the doors were flat fronted and I wish I'd paid more for fancy ones!
