can you sound proof pocket door walls?

hi i am having a large pocket door install 120cm wide by 240 high between front living room and kitchen. I am a bit worried that the cavity in the stud wall for pocket door will mean poor sound insulation.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what i could do about this to reduce noise, as the whole point of reinstating half wall and putting in pocket door is to have some peace and quiet away from the kids!

So long as the wall remains mechanically viable, I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of batttens in the cavity wall. Although it will make it more flexible, a large part of the sound-proofing effect is due to the mass (weight) of the plasterboard rather than the rigidity provided by the studs. You will get some additional benefit if you replace standard plasterboard with acoustic plasterboard.
However, the main difficulty with pocket doors is leakage past the edges; you will need a robust- and stable- enough mechanism to allow you to make decent seals - all around the door including top and bottom. Also, as with the walls, there is also real advantage in the doors being heavy. Solid birch ply has decent density and is a stable and commonly available option - make it as thick there is space and as you can afford.
