Which colour/s would go with emerald green?

I am going to decorate a fairly dark (south facing) living room and have no idea which colours to go for. The sofa and chair are emerald green, the room has a large cream coloured stove on a low plinth on the north wall and a radiator under the window, but apart from that, the room is rectangular and boring.

A new 3 piece suite is out of the question, covering it would be difficult as it is leather and the seats slot together (to make a large semi circle.)

Which colours would contrast with such a vivid green?

stick with light and neutral.

I'd keep the walls light but neutral.

Let the green be the feature in the room with maybe some bright jewel colour cushions ie fuchsia, peacock blue etc and maybe a rug along those lines too. Also a lovely mirror and accent lighting but don't over clutter the room, keep it simple and bright.

Thank you!

The walls will be painted with washable matt emulsion, I was unsure whether to go for a very pale green, pale goldishy cream or something else.
I spend ages choosing a colour but always go back to magnolia in the end. Grin
I love the idea of a tiny bit of peacock blue or fuchsia.

Would a large golden sunburst type mirror above the fireplace look naff?
