New floor then decorate or other way round?

I have never done anything but basic home improvement stuff so a bit clueless. So going for hard flooring, do we lay it then paint the walls or paint the walls then lay the floor?

Paint the walls first then it won't get ruined

Walls first or you'll get paint on the new floor, drag ladders and furniture over it etc...

Oh, assuming you're not doing anything complex with floor that'll involve moving/changing skirting board of course.

Clarabumps · 06/03/2014 14:50

Unless you are getting new skirting boards to be fitted after the floor is laid then the floor should be done last.always.

Paint first then work down to the floor.

Doh! Of course. Thanks.

Walls, then floor. Be prepared to touch up the walls at the end. (I use a Paintpod, and just do one final coat).
