Renting in London - anywhere cheap, friendly and within easy reach of West London and West End?

Posting for a friend who needs ideas abut where to rent. She needs to be able to get to Kew/Chiswick and the centre of town.

She often has very early starts (like 0600!) so the shorter the commute the better ... but she's setting up a business at the moment, and her budget is £1000pcm incl bills, which obviously rules out Chiswick (and anywhere else naice).

She has no DCs or ties to particular areas other than work, so she's looking far and wide really. She doesn't want to share, but happy with a studio flat.

Any suggestions of areas to look at would be brilliant!

Does she have her own transport?

Acton Town could be possible. Don't think it's very naice, but should be within price range and on District/Piccadilly line.

What about Ealing easy to get to chiswick on bus and central line to the west end, bit nicer than Acton.

Acton is expensive. I would move slightly further out and get a slightly nicer flat.

There's Greenford, Northolt in the borough of Ealing and a bit further is Hayes and Yeading which are good for the M4. No they don't have what Chiswick has but that's why they're cheaper. And anyway, they are perfectly fine!

I think Ealing will be too expensive. Just had a look on RightMove and rooms can be up to a grand a month.

Both 0.7 miles away from the central line station of northolt and near the A40.

She does have a car (should have said) so near stations isn't a necessity.

If she wants access into Central London at evenings/weekends she'll probably want to get the tube and the central line is really quick and good to be near. Does her new job have parking? I would check as most don't in London.

The car will only help if she has affordable and available parking at Kew/Chiswick. Also, street parking can be restricted and hard to find in London (and off street parking very limited).

Agree with others, the further out she can go, the better.
