My house is 1920s, and has solid walls. It needs repointing really badly, and I've been quoted about £3k for that work.
However, I've been told that we could have external insulation fitted under the green deal, which would be about double the cost to us, but repayable in manageable chunks via the utility bill... and hopefully with the benefit of a more cosy and energy efficient house longterm (our house isn't anything special on the outside, but we love it and want to stay
)
Has anyone had external insulation fitted? What are people's experiences of the green deal?
