Flossiechops just a thought and I don't know if it would work, but if you have cash buyers who are in rented until August, why don't you let them buy entirely, then rent 'your' house from them until August. You then have a date by which you know you have got to move out and they won't lose their house, you won't lose a (cash!!) buyer. Unless I'm being completely naive, it seems like a win win solution.

Good idea solo, I know they are happy to have the keys as soon as or are happy to wait until July as they want to do some decorating before they move in. Still nothing's come up over the past week, the buyers are coming round next wk so will have a good chat & see what their expectations are. Their surveyor was here for 9 hrs this wk do I will be amazed if they still pay what they offered. We are hoping to hold out until May & if nothing then just go. I can't wait tbh, had another email from the energy company informing me they are putting our monthly bill up to £250 - we can't afford to stay ConfusedConfused good luck to everybody else - hope your having better luck in your hunt.

Solo · 22/02/2014 02:17

Oh yes! I read your thread (I think you!) about that!
Definitely worth asking about renting your house back. They can't really lose as you'd definitely look after it and you'd have a little more breathing space whilst in the knowledge that your money was safely in the bank!

Hullooo. Just popping on to say our offer was finally accepted on Friday! The relief is immense. Good luck to everyone else.

We found our new house via the local items for sale page on Facebook! Someone going through a divorce who hadn't got round to putting it on the market yet.

culturemulcher · 26/02/2014 12:56

Congrats Davey that's really good news.

We thought we'd found the perfect house, but it seems that lots of other people thought so too... and we were outbid (going over the asking price). Sigh.

Back to square one. So, anyone know a house for sale?

Woohoo well done Davey I bet your very relieved! We have seen one too - only came on today, first to view so going to offer tomorrow. Fingers crossed - it's not 100% perfect, it's a semi & I would have preferred a detached. The dc will also have to catch a bus to senior school too BUT it's a lovely road, great size & has been nicely done up. Please keep your fingers crossed for us Smile

culturemulcher · 26/02/2014 21:05

Keeping fingers firmly crossed for you Flossiechops. Hope it's the home for you.

DH is seeing one tomorrow before it goes on the market - so some finger crossing over here too, if you've any fingers to spare.

Offer accepted !!! Really thrilled, we offered 7k less than asking price & they accepted immediately. Was going to go up to asking price too, now the stress really begins ConfusedConfused good luck everyone else still looking Smile

DaveyStott · 27/02/2014 21:05

Congrats Flossie, that's great news. How did your DH get on Culture?

Solo · 28/02/2014 00:37

Are you staying 'local' flossie?

Flossiechops · 02/03/2014 17:53

Thanks all - we are going to Boldmere tiredemma so not too far away. Closer to the new Aldi too Wink went back for a second viewing and still really liked it. We've always bought renovation projects & I feel slightly uncomfortable buying somewhere so done up & top price. I just keep reminding myself that we won't have years of DIY to live with though . It's a 1930s semi on a nice rd so I really hope we will be happy Smile

Tiredemma · 02/03/2014 18:05

Oh lovely- some really nice roads around there (and I LOVE Boldmere High St) Really wish we had something similar in Mere Green. We also considered Boldmere when looking but fell in love with this house and was also swung by AT catchemnt- which school will you look at now? P?

Flossiechops · 02/03/2014 18:15

Yes it will be P - dd wants to sit the 11+ for SGs but the chances are slim. The dc are at a school where most will go onto PB so it's a no brainier really. I work in Boldmere now too so it's all really handy Smile

80sMum · 02/03/2014 18:22

OP, it might be worth putting your request on the Talkback page of the Liphook website HERE

culturemulcher · 02/03/2014 20:54

Ooh thanks very much 80sMum That sounds like a good idea Smile

I'll do that right now.
