House for sale while still renovating....Feasible???

Want to move ASAP but we are still renovating.
Someone suggested that we put the house on the market and continue doing work.
How feasible is this?
Will it put people off? Obviously we could drop the price if potential buyer wants to do work themselves.
Anyone done this?

I don't think its a good idea. How long will it take you to finish the work?

We could go on for years, but could make it marketable by the end of the year.
I would love to be gone by the end of the year. So I want it on the market now
I don't want to jeopardize a sale by selling it unfinished but I don't want to wait any longer either.

What harm does it do to put it on?

We bought a massive project 3 years ago. If the necessary work had been already underway I'm not sure it would have put me off and as you say those looking to do work themselves can say so.

People who 'have vision' (ie lunatics like me) won't be put off by the works.

If its undergoing a 10 month renovation programme, i'd say the people who would be interested in it now (ie want a project) are not the people who would be viewing when it was finished (ie wanted a finished product).

So I'd put it on the market now as a project to finish - limited market, but you never know. Maybe there's a point where its not really a project anymore, but isnt quite finished - so it comes off the market for a few months and relaunches as the finished product.
