The paint looks a little more insipid than I had imagined. Think we may want bold patterned fabric. It's for an office come play room with large bay window. What would you go for?

I highly recommend Roman Blinds Direct The choice is huge and they send samples. Yes I'd go for a bold pattern.

Morehastelessspeed · 10/02/2014 14:15

Thanks for the recommendation! What colour would you go for? Can't decide what will work with it and image search not helping.

Lol I wasn't much help with that bit was I?Grin Do you like modern or more traditional themes? Is the room light and airy or darker?

ggirl · 10/02/2014 14:18

I would go for a pattern with purples/lilacs. There are thousands of fabrics out there . Do you like modern or traditional, do youwant childrens room type fabric?

Morehastelessspeed · 10/02/2014 14:20

More traditional. French or oriental theme maybe. Room is large and light. I'm good with paint colour then don't have a clue how to accessorise!

I've just had some samples sent from www.tuiss.co.uk the fabrics are lovely and appear to be very good quality.

Morehastelessspeed · 10/02/2014 14:25

Ggirl that's why I struggle! Too much choice and not sure what I like. Don't want children's fabrics as it is grown up room too. Can't see me selling purple or lilac to DH but will try!

How about a brown/mocha colour? ie Or this. like this one a lot. I went through all this last year with my kitchen diner. Nearly made myself cross eyed trying to choose. I'm dithery about such things so probably not a great person to be giving adviceGrin.

Morehastelessspeed · 10/02/2014 14:39

Ooh, the second one looks lovely...thanks so much! Will get a sample.

I like this www.roman-blinds-direct.co.uk/stores/product/prestigious_raleigh_zest_roman_blind but can't decide if the yellow would look horrendous with the green!

Or this? www.roman-blinds-direct.co.uk/stores/product/prestigious_painted_garden_tropical_roman_blind

Thanks scented, I'm going to get some brown samples as think DH will be more impressed by that than my bold crazy choices!

Baby crying so off for now Smile

Love both those , the yellow may clash wiht the green a bit but I love that pattern.
Second one is lovely and fresh..a completely different look and very versatile for other accessories and colours in the room.

LadyMud · 10/02/2014 15:34

Ooh, what an interesting challenge! I always tackle re-decorating the opposite way round, by choosing the fabric first. Then I can match the paint with one of the colours in the pattern.

Anyway, I like stripes for roman blinds. What do you think of these?
Villomosa rosebud
Villomosa indigo

Morehastelessspeed · 10/02/2014 19:19

Thank you ladymud! I also love stripes and am thinking a traditional ticking for the kitchen (am trying to buy curtains for four rooms!). I really like the second one you linked to so will get a sample of that. Don't know what it is about mauve but to me it can feel dated.

I think I will want to be brave enough to go for my second link but will end up with your second link!
