Help with kitchen/diner/playroom flooring

Would so appreciate some help with flooring ideas for kitchen diner playroom open plan area. Was thinking of wood but house already has beautiful original parquet in other areas and we can't spend much on it so wondering if the cheaper reclaimed or engineered wood would look like an odd contrast with other flooring. Tiles are an obvious option but would they look cold/odd in a large area and a bit cold in playroom - dont have money for underfloor heating? Considered polished concrete but seems very expensive. Help!

Are you reasonably handy? You can get reclaimed parquet very cheaply and tidy it up yourself then lay it. Or new parquet isn't as expensive as all that (no more so than decent solid wood floors). I hate tiles personally, so would consider nice vinyl otherwise. I think the solid coloured vinyl looks lovely.

Linoleum? Forbo floors does some lovely Marmoleum.

Thanks Mummy and Marvellous!

Will take a look at Forbo Floors.

Reclaimed parquet sounds like an amazing idea. Will take a look at that!
