Composite Front door. Anyone got a Rock door?

We're looking to replace our horrible white UPVC front door. I've had a look at Rock doors and like the look of them. Has anyone had one fitted recently? Would you recommend? And roughly how much was it? Thanks.

Yes we've got one. It has vastly cut down on the drafts we used to get in the hall from our old wooden door. That area used to be a couple of degrees colder than the older floors.

We're happy with it so far. Only downside was the limited range of colours available. Think it cost about £900 for door + fitting.

Ihatemytoes · 24/01/2014 09:25

Thanks for replying. Were you able to go and have at look at the door in real life before you ordered? I'm having a nightmare trying to find a showroom local to me.

We have one in anthracite grey, jacobean ultimate style. It's fantastic! I love it and our hallway is loads warmer despite the fact we had a porch removed when the rockdoor was fitted. It's so easy to lock, really secure and looks fab. We didn't see before we bought but I read good reviews, think I did see a material sample though. Whereabouts are you? I used a guy called Pete who was excellent and has a Facebook page (Right Door based in Essex). Thoroughly recommend!

YellowDahlias · 24/01/2014 09:49

No we took a gamble. We did get the colour samples sent through though.

Ihatemytoes · 24/01/2014 15:49

lulupeg that's the exact same door I want to order!

Ihatemytoes - it's gorgeous! The grey is quite dark, towards charcoal, but it's lovely, very classy. We have a fanlight an sidelight too and it's gives our front of house a real wow factor. Plus so safe and solid. I love the Chartwell Green (think?) one as well, looks lovely but didn't go with our hall decor. Go for it! Ours was £1500 because of all the extra glazing/frames etc and because our doorway is big.

Augustwedding · 24/01/2014 19:33

We are looking at composite doors. Where did you get yours from? Is it triple glazed?

GoofyIsACow · 24/01/2014 19:36

We have one, also in anthracite grey, it is excellent. We ordered one as DP's had theirs done and it reduced drafts massively.

Feels really secure and heavy (in a good way)

GoofyIsACow · 24/01/2014 19:37

Ours is elite series regency

YellowDahlias · 24/01/2014 19:39

Grrr how annoying. They weren't doing Chartwell Green when we bought ours. We really wanted that colour.

GoofyIsACow · 24/01/2014 19:52

Yellow, us too! I was bloody fed up when i just opened the website!

Ihatemytoes · 24/01/2014 20:47

How did you find local installers? I've filled in the online form on the rock website, but no one has contacted me.

I called the number on rockdoor's own site and they put me in touch with Pete at Right Door iirc.

PastaandCheese · 26/01/2014 19:17

We have one and we love it. It was expensive but worth it for the toasty hall alone.

Ihatemytoes · 19/04/2014 19:48

Had our rockdoor fitted on Monday. I absolutely love it, don't know why we waited so long!

Ah glad you like it. I seriously love mine... Definitely feel I have moved onto the next stage of life being excited about a front door but makes such a difference inside and out :)

Carrierpenguin · 07/11/2014 19:07

Hi, I'm looking at Rock Doors and thinking of the Carolina in chartwell green. Been quoted £1100 including fitting in sw london.

Has anyone had any problems with their rock door? Is this a good price? Other online quotes were around £1400.

Monica101 · 08/11/2014 10:03

It seems a good price, I've been quoted £1365 and I'm in the North of England. I would've thought it might have been cheaper up here!

It's for a Newark or Illinois, I haven't quite decided yet. But was told there is only £50 difference in any door design.

Lovely colour choice, I would have it but doesn't go with my windows.

Carrierpenguin · 08/11/2014 10:37

Thanks Monica! I like the colour too, I hope it won't date...I think it's a good quote by the sounds of it, I wonder if it's cheap due to the time of year, as I expect most people want doors fitted in spring/summer.

Monica101 · 08/11/2014 11:10

Here are a few comments on the Chartwell Green colour on a thread I started on home decoration here.

Personally I don't think it will date, it's a classic colour even if it's in vogue at the moment.

I've just had two composite doors fitted, not rock doors but high quality ones none the less. Mine are red, which looks gorgeous. It's a brick red rather than pillar box red. They are fantastic for draught proofing. Very pleased with them. I used Pennine Glazing And Doors, overall excellent service.

Beemer30 · 08/11/2014 17:39

I had a rock door fitted back in May. It's a Jacobean in red from the ultimate range. It cost £1150. I used very secure doors chap called Jim. He's based in Derby and travelled a couple if hours south to me to fit my door. I'd recommend him :-)

MuttonCadet · 08/11/2014 17:41

Distinction doors can paint to whatever colour you require, not limited to a certain range.

bridget8267 · 11/08/2015 09:41

after honest reviews on Rockdoors, can anyone help. I have seen Vogue cube in Anthracite grey and fell for it, I want it on my house, i just need convincing that Rockdoors are worth the money as it is a lot of money i am looking at to put this door on.

OmJoey · 02/05/2017 16:27

Can I ask, what lock/s did you fit on your rock door?
