I'm a book-lover. I have big collection of books and I've finally got a bigger house with more room for the book collection. Now I need some suggestions to move to a new house without damage. Any Advice ?

One small tip, use small boxes (ones that hold printer paper or wine boxes are great, as they are reinforced well). Overloaded/too heavy boxes will fall apart or get dropped.

I'm going to be doing the same soon.
I quite recently cleared out some old books (that had belonged to my grandmother) from my late parents' house. I wrapped each book in a sheet of newspaper, lined the box I was packing them in with double layers of newspaper, and only filled the box to the three-quarter level.
I taped the bottom and corners of the box to reinforce, and added another extra layer of paper over the top of the books.

They're fine. I have removed the packaging as the box subsequently got damaged. I'll do the same when I move them again.

Alternatively, line the box with bubble wrap.

Books are easy to move without damage, honestly - I wouldn't stress about it.

I agree about small boxes though when my parents moved the removal men carried full-size boxes of books - we were watching them open-mouthed and gave them a big tip at the end!

They do take longer than you think and more boxes to pack. My rule of thumb is usually 1 shelf=1 box (for the size box I can carry).

Also it will be fine if you're moving the straight from one house to the next but they can go musty easily if you store them anywhere damp. (Sorry if this is completely obvious.)

proper book boxes, which are not too big so you will need a lot. Pack them full. If you can't move it don't expect the movers to do it carefully.

The packing and moving service was fine with my books. We had a lot of freestanding bookcases though so they weren't in boxes for long.

Small boxes as pp have said and pad gaps with paper.

Proper book boxes packed fully, no gaps. Pack the same size books together to make life easier.

I've packed/unpacked many book boxes in my time.

Glassware, mugs etc much much trickier IMHO.
