Was all excited for moving as I found a house in a area I was looking for when I went to view it the tenant was in showing us about it looked nice I've been in here now a week and from the start its been a nightmare was dirty told in bathroom still not clean things broken landlord had to but me a washing machine which is too big for under the work top and rattles I'm talking loud plus its leaking due to it moving when on
It's not what I hoped it to be and I don't know what to do
Speaking to council tomorrow as I've been on the list for a house since I 16 now 30
Is there anything I can do I can't move back home and don't think I can afford another sublet

sorry I am having trouble reading that, could you redo with some punctuation please ?

ilovepowerhoop · 20/01/2014 09:49

speak to your landlord about the broken items and the leaking washing machine and clean the bathroom?

Mitsi10 · 20/01/2014 10:00

Sorry for that basically I feel its not worth the money and that I've rushed in to quick with it feel as though I should have waited as I've now seen a different house which looks in better and worth the money the stuff is getting sorted just don't feel happy here at all

Did you sign an inventory where these conditions were detailed? Or did you agree to let it as-is and you've now changed your mind?

Not sure what you want the landlord to do about your flat being dirty. If there's no inventory, take photos and get in writing his agreement that you will leave the place in same unclean state it was when you moved in. Then clean it Smile

Did you sign a lease/tenancy ? If so for what period ? You can't just leave a property because you have decided you like somewhere better.

BrandNewIggi · 20/01/2014 16:23

This is a room in a shared flat, right? Does the actual landlord know you have moved in, given you something to sign etc? The deposit should be in a special account so it is harder for them to keep it unfairly when you leave! We need more info really to help Smile

your deposit should be in a protected scheme, didn't you check?

how have things broken and got dirty since you viewed?
