When did radiators become 'a feature' ??

Having a general trawl through a few Estate Agents sites, and came across this home, in which 4 of the 16 photos are of different radiators
Here

Am I missing something, or is that a bit strange? putting aside the fact the photos are dark and hardly 'selling' the house to me

maybe in attempt to avoid the other issues the house has.

Very strange.

First thing I'd do if I bought it would be to paint them all white.

Confused

I viewed a Victorian terrace a while back. Was quite nice (said no due to some crap DIY and a scary patch of damp) but had 'modern' radiators which looked like rockets in the rooms.

They took up a HUGE amount of floor space and really stuck out into the rooms. It was taken off the market about a week later so I can't show you a link.

I also hate radiator covers. They make a small radiator that you'd never notice into a weirdo 'feature'. Odd.

I know. When I saw the first radiator picture, it seemed to be making out it was some sort of 'feature' but it's an old fashioned radiator in a modern house - it seems such an odd thing to put in, and I just can't see how it's supposed to 'sell the house'. It's a lovely road, very much "sought after" as they say, but it's like the estate agent has done it's best to disguise this.

The owners obviously think there'll be huge demand for attention grabbing and quite ugly radiators. What is going on with the ones with mirrors on them?

Roussette · 12/01/2014 18:02

Those with mirrors on are horrible. Love the old fashioned radiators but in a modern house like that, they look plain daft!

BrownSauceSandwich · 12/01/2014 18:26

What the fuck? Wobbly radiators on your mirrors?

BrownSauceSandwich · 12/01/2014 18:27

Or mirrors on your radiators, even. As you can tell, they have actually boggled my mind!
