Replacing roofline (soffits / fascias / bargeboards)

As well as replacing our edwardian door, my husband is keen to replace our roofline with uPVC (soffits, bargeboards and fascias). Does anyone have an experience of this are you pleased you replaced them? One thing that is an issue is that they will not be able to replicate our intricate bargeboard.

Can this devalue the house? Do people want to see the original roofline on an Edwardian house? Thanks (especially if you've just read my door thread too)

Why do you want to replace them? IMO it will devalue a house, especially if they are decorative and original. UPVC isn't a very durable material either, prone to cracking and also can't be repaired unlike wood.

Do they need attention? You could ask your joiner for your door to take a look?

I've been wondering how much it would cost to do the roofline on our Victorian house. It's full of birds nests and wasps nests. We spent a fortune on exterminating wasps last summer, and then discovered we had hornets as well.
