We have apple green kitchen walls, white gloss units with gun metal handles, walnut veneer worktops, grey tiles, dark grey karndean tiles, walnut table, chairs and sideboard and a few red accents (kettle, toaster, vases, etc).

I need to srt out a combo of blinds and curtains but I'm stumped as to colour. Here's my thoughts so far:

  • grey could be too cold
  • white too clinical
  • thought something hessian-like might do but doesn't work with grey tiles
  • green to match the walls would be too much green
  • red accents might be a bit "forced" / matchy-matchy

It's a big kitchen and lots of windows plus a patio door to deal with - probably looking at, at least, £5-600 so want to get it right... What do to think? Any help mch appreciated...

Yours fussily...

Do you really need curtains in a kitchen? Sounds a bit odd.

I thought so too but it's a large room and the patio doors make it chilly. The plan is blinds on the windows (haven't decided re roller or roman) and a thermal-lined curtain over the patio door (obviously pulled to the side most of the time). Id rather not have the curtain but we're unlikely to be able to prioritise upgrading the doors anytime soon (big project house!!)
